I love little niches.

There’s something about taking an ordinary object or image and giving it a home. It elevates the mundane to the special.  It houses something of value to you, though the significance may be lost to the outside world.

It could be a collective of natural objects you collected on your first walk after moving. It could be a photo of your beloved mother and some jewellery she left you. A plastic horse which reminds you of your childhood longing for the real thing. A mini gallery that pays tribute to the real thing.

Anything really, anything that is real and meaningful to you.

I’m offering a workshop in France on June 10th and an online one coming soon. I’ll show you how to make them and have fun decorating them.

The image is work from the splendid Sue, one of my workshop participants.
